    Hi all

So I posted last week about the strange overrun noise I was getting like a whining high pitch noise.

I think I have got to the bottom of it - apparently the OEM honda sprockets have a rubber cushion on one side that dampens noise and what have you, after market sproks like the one I got, didnt have this.

    Here is the cushioned sprocket

Im going to order a new sprocket from Honda in hopes this will sort the issue out, its just noise at the end of the day but its really annoying!! I know most bikes dont have this cushion thing but a lot have like a rubber cup or grommet to stop any rattling and such.

Just wanted your opinions on weather you think this might do the job or if you have had similar issues? You cant really hear anything at speed from the wind and the can noise but when you can hear it, its annoying as hell!!

a workmate of mine had this years ago on his r1 after changing the original sprockets. he used to pass me as i walked home from work and you could hear the whine as he trickled past. changes the fron again to yamaha part and quiet again. his had the damper fitted to the front like yours so it must be doing its job.
