Following on from the Brembo thread about how much this Forum costs us 'weak of willed' members I thought I'd start a new thread! This time last year I was Bikeless! By March the first 2013 I'd spent............. £10.5K on a new Blade £600 on Gillies Riser Bars, R&G stuff Huggers etc £1K on new Gortex clothing, Shoei Lid, Gloves and Boots etc £450 on Kreiga luggae, racks, Tom Toms and fittings etc The Summer came and I got the Track Day bug £4.5K on a ZX10R £175 on GB Racing protection £1.1K on a Trailer £300 on Paddock stands and Bike Lifts £800 on Leathers & a Knox Back Protector £1K on two spare sets of wheels & discs £950 ish on Track Days Then Winter came.......... £2.1k on Ohlins Sussies £375 on a Quickshifter £800 on new CRC Fairings and a Quattro Plant Race Rep paint job! Edit.. Oh and £350 on a Termignoni Carbon Can for the Blade off a forum member! FCUK ME! That's £25K I've blown in less than 12 months! Best forget the Brembo HPK's for now and I'm sure there's stuff I've forgot about! Hope I never forget to lock this PC in case the Wifey goes a snoopin'!
not spent more than £500 on bikes in last year as there all kitted up but changed 1 car and bought a second and that cost £23k. thats more than half of what we paid for our house many years ago!
£3000 Cost to change for Gixer £350 For Shuttys leathers £300 Insurance, bought some Astars GP Pro gloves off Ebay. This year could be expensive Yoshi pipe, PC V.tail tidy, small plate, seat cowl, top yoke protectors small beer compared to yours Sine!!
Oh aye! Insurance was best part of £900 due to having Zero NCB Bought two lots of Tyres for the Blade at £275 a go! HEL lines for the Blade at £225 ish I think inc fitting Touring Screen for the Blade at £80 Pazzos at £165 Tank Bag and quick lock, nother £100 Shit! That's another £2120! Make that £27K+ then!
£7.5K 2011 Blade £700 on the Yoshi Zorst Insurance was probably about £50 extra from my other insurance. £109 Bike stand (which still aint here lol) Thats about £8.5K factoring a few odds and sods Mind you the year before I did £15k I need to take up a lesser hobby
Starting from this time last year.. 7k blade 1k in mods 1k in tyres and other consumables 500 quid insurance 3k trackbike 10 trackdays average 300 quid a go all in 3k 1 tour of scotland 1k Leathers and boots 1k R6 3.5k About to buy a van at 3.5k fook your right sine it does add up!!!!
I've blown about 50K in the last 4 years I've be racing..... only 2 more years for me and then it'll be time to call it quit's...somehow think the missus will be happy I don't add it all up penny for penny, but do have a rough idea how much on bikes, trackdays, bike holidays... Since november I've spent close to 8K only.... now only have to book and pay for some track days and hope that I don't crash this year, oh yeah, need some rubebr, oil, brakepads and the ussual shit but od have a nice new shiney 2013 blade here ready to rock and roll in monteblanco next month
I must say though, that because I buy my bikes in the UK they're cheaper than over here, so after 1 or 2 years I either sell them for profit or the same, have never lost money on a bike... I have even picked up a few on the cheap and sold on with profit... so knowing that I've blown 50K in 4 years, give or take me saving or earning another 10K or so on bikes...... ooohhhh shit I think I've just shat my pants..... OMG, thats half the money I need in 2 years to move back to oz...... off to cry now
Probably about £2000 on 'upgrades' and track time same amount again( and some) to shut the wife up Fook ME must spend less on the wife!
