How not to clean your chain (WARNING Graphic pics )

    Yeah seen that before. I do lube my chain while it's running, but keep my hands well clear and use a long nozzle pointed at top and lower chain run near sidestand, nowhere near the rear sprocket!!! Always clean the chain with engine off!

    Now if i done something as stupid as that i would not be looking for a camera to take a photo of it and show it on a forum....doh

    i do oil the chain with the engine running - our of gear - just let the running engine turn the wheel

    never clean it - with it running

    i would rather have a dirty chain and all my fingers

    Thats not good, i'm crap when i'm bleeding well i'd be trying not to pass out instead of taking photos!

    Looking online throu forums and you wouldn't believe how often this kind of thing happens. There is a lot of fingerless bikers out there

    I've seen this sort of thing happen at work, using a rag on a turning Flexo Print press. It can happen so fast, poor chap!
    He will need his break lever a little closer in future. Sorry that was not nice?

    OUCH! I'd be dialling 999 and shouting 4 letter expletives, not taking snaps!
