For a helmet. I've seen a lid on eBay which the guy's describing as "Brand New". I don't doubt his assertion that it's a previously unsold helmet but I asked him for the lid's manufacture date and it's 2007. How can that be classed as brand new!!?????
I have a similar debate with Lisa when she gets a dress out with the tags still on but she claims isn't new on the basis she bought it 3 months ago but just hasnt worn it yet... funny how they take a different stance on it.... personally, when it comes to lids, i wouldnt buy one 2nd hand - just dont know it's history and the one thing i wouldnt take a chance on. dont they state they should be changed every 5 years anyway? but thats a used one.... if it's boxed and trully unused i.e been in their store... should be ok!?!
If the helmets been boxed and stored properly it should be fine. Be wary of ex-display models as although they may look ok,the possibility they've been dropped there may be unseen damage.
Oh don't worry. I'm not buying it. I wouldn't let someone sell me a 6 year old car for 20% off the original full list price
Only buy from a proper shop or well known Internet shop, reason is the helmet bloke at my local market advertises on eBay as a bike store and I have seen the way he displays them and the way he loads and unloads the van!
I bought end of line stock from a place called J&S got three agv gp-pro's for £120 each delivered.as long as its boxed it should be fine.saying that I know fellas that have been wearing the same lid for well over five years.
5 years is what they state for a helmet but that's with 5 years UV exposure, so if its been stored for a bit in a box should be fine, but wouldn't buy second hand as you don't know the history!
