Needed a new rubber washer for shower hose so went into B & Q a pack of 5 was £1.07 (ok I only needed 1) but the amount of empty and part opened packets where scum had nicked 1 rubber washer ! Just made me think how sad are some people are.

I would put part of the blame with B&Q, why not just sell them individually instead of forcing people to spend more by buying 5...

We've still got one, proper ironmongery here where you can buy a 'handful' of stuff like this. It's quite liberating and, of course, no fun for the pond life to bother visiting.

When you can buy bits and get them shipped from China cheaper than from the B&Q down the road you know that something is wrong with the World.

Im with both sides of this thread
    1. bit stingy to nick 1 washer from a £1 packet
    2. wtf, sell us one bloody washer instead of 4 extras we don't need, then all us disgruntled shoppers won't feel the need to knick them...allegedly!

just think...how nice it would be to get a pick and mix in the hardware section...then they just weigh it and charge you...AHH HEAVEN!

Appears to be the same all over the world, I am in the States working, and went to Home Depot, needed 3/8 rubber grommets, their computer showed 5 packs of 2 in a pack at 31 cents a pack, after sorting through the drawer with an assistant, we turned up 3 burgled packets totally empty, so in the land of the free, even 18p for 2 is a price to high to pay.
