I'm a little new to network sites and I'm not sure I,m following whats going on in the best way? once a day I open new posts to see whats going on, is this the best way or can someone advise me to keep up a different way. What should be my first option to ensure I don't miss anything. I also get 20 or 30 emails every day that are taking over my inbox, I clearly don't know what I'm doing or do I?
You are automatically subscribing to ever thread you post a reply to . Turn it off in settings and delete your subscribed threads unless there is a few you want email notifications on. When i log on i click new posts and work my way through them . That list stays until you have at least looked at the last page of a thread , As a moderator i scroll through all new posts looking for spam and mistakes so tend to log on and go through all new posts and log out when the list is empty , To keep the new posts list between 0 and 1 page requires me to log on for half hour to 1 full hour sessions 4 maybe 5 times a day Good job i love it Ha Ha
pick things you want to read. i'm on a lot but still miss things and been posting on forums for years. pop on as often as you want. just take the time to scan around and see what you feel you want to post or start a new thread. No way you can read everything and as the forum grow it just more difficult. Adding mates on t the forum is a good idea. People who you enjoy reading of their post/threads. you can go and check out what they have said over the past few days and post reply's when you fee you want to
Thanks for that guys, I've emplied my subscription bvox to cut the number of emails I receieve and I'll manage that better in future. How I read the site sounds like its ok but what is the "STICKY" threads and what is the difference between them and standard threads?
stickys are there to keep a hot topic at the top of a board. maybe something other may find useful and would be better used by having at the top of a board. track tyres one for example is always handy as people are always asking about tyres. Saves multi thread and covering the same ground over and over
Also, new threads are posted as tweets on the @CBR1000rrForum Twitter account, so if you're on Twitter that's a handy way of seeing new topics. 1000rr.co.uk (@CBR1000rrForum) on Twitter
