As per title really chaps, don't normally buy stuff like this but it matches my tank Pad and figured they could keep each other company over Xmas So here's the thing, I work with self adhesive vinyl all the time (well the production lads do) This has turned up and it's pre cut with the under side in a silver looking foil with the adhesive on, that I assume was meant to be firmly stuck to the release liner but it wasn't quite and so some of the section may have been exposed to the air for some time. Perhaps this dosnt matter though as the instructions say to 'heat the bonding area up to 70 degrees prior to application' So does it mean the underside of the cover (silver glue side) or does it mean heat the fuel cap where I'm sticking it? If it is the glue side this must activate the glue more and therefor it won't matter so much it's been exposed to the air???? I mean bloody hell, it's a sticker for Christ sake, I just don't wanna put it on and it come off in random bits over the next few weeks. Grrrrrr...... Annoying little blighter
Well I've got some IPA from work (alcohol) so I'll use that. Just concerned some of the underside wasn't covered after unpacking it so those bits may not have the same adhesion strength. Bugger it, only one way to find out
I just stick mine on, then I got this:- Then I did not like the black cap so changed it for this.. I did ask Ducati for a stick on one, they found that very funny!..
Well done arthurbikemad I was just getting sorted to post the same. Think I'm going to add one to my bike soon. Or similar HONDA CBR1000 RR BIKETEK RACE PETROL CAP Aluminium Fuel | eBay
Arthur you shit......... That's blatenly cost me more money now Ok, where do I get the 2nd pic one from?
lol They are the same caps but I swapped the inner from my 848 with the Blade, now the 848 has the nice black one with the red frame and carbon outer and the blade has the silver inner to match the silver frame...lol Perfek! They come from discountbikestore.co.uk I did nick the idea from Zeepony.....lol blame him!
I have the all alloy version of that cap in black on the tank of my black SP2 and it looks stunning. Looks very trick in Carbon though and is a super trick mod IMO, nice one Arthur.
Well technically my bikes are standard for the duration of the trip back from the dealers.....then it all changes from day 1
I will keep an eye out for those at the show sunday .. I saw Z's a while back but totally forgot about them ... NT has a nice 1 on hers but i can't remember if she has a lock or not
I bought mine through MotoDex UGmbH I can highly recommend Tony for all your Bling. He is an Englishman abroad (to quote Sting) and very helpfull and well priced. I have bought many bits through him
