I just become the proud owner of a 2008 Fireblade race/track bike. Having left the dark world of 2007 ZX10r, the new bike is a revelation! It's got lots of trickness on it including kit... Rear shock, rear subrame, front subframe, big radiator, HRC oil cooler, ECU, loom, rearsets, 2011 wheels (not trick but pretty), HRC dash, Leo vince full system, K-Tech DDS internals etc. Basically, all the normal bits and a few extras. The bike is immense and got a cool 198 bhp on the dyno while spinning the back wheel. Apparently on treaded tyres it may have just tipped over 200 bhp! The only bit that's doing my head in? I don't have the HRC USB lead and £500 is a joke!!! What I would like to do is convert an OBD or RS-232 adapter to work with the kit ECU. Before I get into it properly, does anyone have any knowledge on this at all? If so it would be great to get some help. If not, does anyone have an HRC cable that I can see/borrow at a trackday etc.? I think if I've got one to hand I'd be able to figure it out and if it's resolvable then I'll obviously share my findings on here and could make them for people for next to naff all.
Just been scanning the serial port when the read button is pressed and can see the messages going out and get an error message back from the bike. Progress, but not much!
