    hi,

ive just recently got myself an 08 blade with the plan to track day it, looking at the forum plenty of peolple seem to fit an upgraded rear subframe. is this just for weight saving purposes or is there another reason behind it? id imagine this question has been asked hundreds of times before but couldnt find anything the specifically explains why.

For bikes that people just use on track, the HRC type ones are about half the length of the standard ones and are lighter as you don't need anything to support a pillion or to house all the road gear (lights, etc). They also make it easier to fit and remove race rear seat units. I imagine they might hold up to crashing better too as they are more compact.

The 'SP' ones are the same dimension as standard but don't have the rear pegs and look a bit cooler :)

If you wanted to switch between track and road use it's prob best to keep the standard one or fit the one from an SP, as there's less room with the race ones for all the electrical stuff that's under the seat, as race bikes will usually have a pared down race loom.
