I've done a few airbox inlet tweeks to my bike, namely the A tech air scoop and fitted the pair valve block off plates plus the pipercross air filter. Would I just be waisting my money fitting a set of HRC velocity stacks aswell, do they give good gains or is head work etc needed?
Hi mate, the stacks will improve top end but how much would only be a guess on your motor. I have seen HRC stacks make another 3bhp+ but at the cost of mid range when you think the HRC stacks are 600.00+ NEW and SH 250-350 or more its a lot of dosh for the small gains, mind you I could be the diff of the big 180rwbhp! The HRC stacks have pimples on to help atomise any fuel that creeps down the stack walls this I would say is a plus over OEM but most aftermarket carbon stacks etc I think are more bling than ding...lol Some of the factory stacks are matched to the motors and airbox etc etc so again how well they work outside of what they were built for is another guess. I think sometimes you have to think about what your gaining and where it is and more often or not with tuning its pros and cons of power.. maybe look elsewhere to improve what you have?
Mines a US bike from what I can tell, I've got no HISS so i'm guessing that is a pointer. How much difference would the ecu make then, also would it be compatable with my PCV?
Now this says it works with the HESD but when I ran an HRC ECU I could not get it working HOWEVER it may have been switched off I say may as I had other problems and gave up in the end as I had a good offer to sell it so I did! Anyway see here for more info.. :- ROGUE RACING HRC ECU CBR1000RR
