Hi, Noticed my blade is hunting @ idle, little but noticeable on the speedo and exhaust sound. 09 blade, with bmc filter, PC, and Leo Vince can. Running with the standard Leo Vince map. Any idea's
Ideally you need a custom map done on a dyno; You have the power commander so should cost around £60 to set up. its running lean which causes the hunting(you need more fuel adding via pc map), You will notice the difference in performance too once you have a custom map installed ( crisper throttle response )
Cold i had left the bike running from cold for 15mins outside the house, so is that also when hot? maybe i just noticed it more as i was not riding..
My 2012 does it occasionally and it doesn't bother me either. A couple of hundred revs max, usually when I've started it when warm. Normally settles down after 30 seconds or so. Fueling while moving seems faultless.
Mine does it and i've had a custom map, it only hunts for maybe 100 revs but it pulses up and down when warm. rides fine so i ignore it.
Projex Cradley heath. Was five years ago when I had my 2010 fireblade done so probably more like £100 now. http://www.projex-uk.co.uk/contact.html
This is not my experience of the same thing - no amount of extra fuelling at idle speeds via a PCV helped the hunting when running certain exhausts. The only conclusion I could draw (and prove out) was lack of back pressure from the exhaust - try it by half covering the exhaust outlet with your boot while it's doing it and see if it stops...
