Today I was busy with a touch of DIY, however with the sun up I decided to take a break and give the bike a run. When I returned home I put the bike in the garage and carried on with my work. I was in and out of the garage for two hours or more, even working in there for a while with no drama.

And then without warning the bike slowly collapse and landed on it side, I can only assume the stand was not fully out but it took 2hours to fall:eek:

The positive end to this post is that because i have R&Gs fitted the bike has no marks scratches etc, result:D

Very lucky, is that twice its fallen on its side now? Bet you glad you put the r+g's on now! I always keep mine on a paddock stand when in the garage, nice and sturdy and easy for maintenance

Crikey Carl. That's not good. Glad to see that the R & G's did their job and there's no damage.
Reading your post ain't gonna help my OCD though. Every time I put the bike away after a quick blast I return to it every 15 mins or so for the first 2-3 hours to make sure that I've put the stand down properly and it's still upright. Gonna being doing it every 5 mins now

Just open the stand with your leg and once open just a little tap with the foot to ensure that its home and game over you can't do any more .

I tell people " Don't worry about the 0.1 % chance of the crashbungs damaging your frame if you have a high speed off and it might hit a kerb. Think of the 99.9% likelihood of damage at zero mph!"
Just put yer bike on a paddock stand as soon as you park it at home, no more worries!

I dropped my blade on the last run of last year :( went to do a U turn on a uneven road and lost my footing. the crash bungs saved the side from marks. only damage was a small scratch on the crach bungs, brake leaver and exhaust. The Exhaust I was most pissed about but hay ho it could have been worse

I always use paddock stands but if I do leave on stand I always put front wheel up against kurb or wall in garage it's gotta roll forward to fall

Another yes vote for R&G :)

I remember years ago getting my NC30 out of the garage, negotiating between two parked cars. Then standing on the wrong side of the bike, thinking the stand was down.

It's that horrible feeling you get, when you realise the stand is not down & the bike has gone over too far for you to recover.

Had to lay her on her side & then run round & pick her up. Thanks to the R&G crash bungs I had no damage to the bike, just a few scuff marks on the bungs.

When I bought the Blade, the first item on the agenda was a set of crash bungs, followed by Ventureshield :)

Bloody hell Carl, sorry to hear that mate, but really glad you decided to fit the bungs. I also 100% agree with Mega's comment.

done the same with an nc30, bloody things are heavy once the weight gets away from you.
I landed on top of mine lol.

I found the stand on my blade very stiff, greased it up but it still doesnt feel
as light as most side stands
