.. this young lady has not gone home?

But is now in schooling in the Uk?

Malala Back In School After Taliban Shooting

I gather this is due to her being in the media light and at risk of being killed at home? but this is my guess

Would she rather not be at home with her family and friends? or would her family now be living with her. the Pakistani Police should be able to keep a eye on her safe well being at home?

I have no problem with the UK helping out anyone, But I am finding this hard to understand? or is it just me?

    Not just you.

Soon to be followed by mum, dad, grandma, grandad, cousin, second cousin and third cousin once removed.

    And the dog.

Plus did anyone see motorway cops last night about the romainians robbing the power cables from the motorway network ?? Gov't have told cops to make it a priority to catch and prosecute these scum. Even the interviewed cops said they are bringing this country to its knees. Its a disgrace !

On the same wavelength,Watched dispatches last night, the gov't are paying £300 heating allowance to expats in Spain Mexico etc.If you are loaded you cannot send it back or opt out.Peter stringfellow tried to send his back and they told him to give it to charity. If I were to make a difference to this country it would be no benefits only to those that need it short term.Long term unemployed would have to work for their benefit.Anyone who has not paid into the system gets nowt. All youngsters will be an apprentice for 5 yrs in a trade unless working full time.Thats my rant over.

Also did anyone read the article a couple of weeks ago about how much child allowance the UK sends out of this country for children that live back 'home'... FFS makes me sick. I pay my taxes, I am insured,I am on the system, I am fully accountable for my actions and if I am caught for parking, speeding, not paying my council tax etc the authorities know exactly where to find me. Not happy to go slightly off thread but i'm sure we all know where this will lead?

Well, I've got no children, am in relatively good health, have no disability or mental health problems, live and work in a rural, low salaried region with little inner city regeneration funding, am heterosexual with no religious affiliations.

So I've never even seen an official piece of paper with the word "benefit" written on it...

    Still, on the bright side...

I totally agree with all of you..

We need to look after our own first not everybody else's, you can't tell me there's not some poor lad or lass in Birmingham that needs some kind of help.

There's thousands in Britain that genuinely need help.

the fact that the government and system turns a blind eye and refuses to help makes me puke. There must be some serious monetary backhanders towards these decision makers... It simply doesn't make sense. To hand money out to the lazy, the immigrants (and relatives back home) and the rest of the no hopers is un fathomable. The uk is beyond redemption, and I cannot see it ever recovering. I'm sick to the back teeth paying taxes to fund them. I'll get fuck all when I retire ( a uk based company lost my pension) when Jo blogs who has been on benefits due to being a lazy twat will get exactly the same if not better than me.
build a wall around a town that isn't needed, throw the losers and scavs in there and cement the fucker up and let them destroy themselves.

I'm sure I met someone called Snake Plissken not so long ago.......

Right let me get this straight for people who don't know me.

This is a genuine question as I have no idea why the young lady is now schooling in the UK

This was not meant as any form of racism. You have no idea who or what I am. My life and experiences so please don't think I am racist.

This is just a question I have and has nothing to do with the stance of the forum as a whole.

Why can a person not ask a very nice question at I took time to write so it does not come out the wrong way and why must everyone not talk about immigration, disabled people or the colour of a persons skin without being called a racists!

I for one will ensure in the future that I google any issue like this to find out myself more about it than ask on a forum as I seem to have found out it will result in people always finding it comes across the wrong was I intended.

And please I do not agree with a post that has been posted. I did not want to get political I was simply asking a question I did not know the answer to

The problem is that whether you like it or not, your question is political, or at least, the answer is. I make no excuses for being cynical, I am, so I have no particular axe to grind but here it is.

The reason that the young lady in question is now being schooled in the UK is that those who ultimately made the decision to sanction it perceive it as a positive, photo opportunistic but, above all, internationally visible token of retribution in the shadow of an increasingly unpopular war.

Parading the remains and grief stricken families of killed and maimed soldiers and victims of the war will not increase popularity ratings of those who are quickly running out of worthy reasons to continue fighting it.

A multiple amputee completing a marathon is more than news worthy, but does Whitehall really want to be reminded that it's an accomplishment on the part of the individual simply because part of them is still lying in the dust in some far flung land?

    No.

But to the eyes of the world, it may be considered far more uplifting to see a victim of the regime the armed forces are, supposedly, combating plucked from harms way, healed and repatriated within a community that is the antithesis of all that they have previously known.

It's politics. Nothing more, nothing less.

The problem with it is, that in the eyes of an ever more growing cynical public, politics are no longer a justifiable sub text for social injustice, real or perceived, and it has begun to fester in the craw of the collected public.

Why do they get this, when I can't get that. Why can a health tourist fly into the UK to give birth within the NHS and then leave the country the second they're discharged when I can't even get an appointment to see a specialist. Why can people who have never worked claim housing and benefit for their families while my mortgage is being foreclosed by the bank.

It may be prejudiced, it may be reactionary, but they are still valid questions that need to be at least answered with some honesty even if they are not addressed.

Your type of question, no matter how innocently asked will always open the floodgates of frustration and cause the bile to spew out.

    And that's politics too.

Totally agree ken. Politicians will always look after their own.

Greed has a place too though.
