Im coming up to insurance renewal and have my renewal of 432 from cia(best they can do). However MCE are quoting 309, quite a difference. There's no real in between contenders so nOw I just don't know what to do???? I've read such bad things about mce, but is it just a case of bad news travels fast? Should I just stick with CIA? But then 120 odd quid is a fair bit!! Any thoughts or opinions before I kick my laptop out the window and just ride the blade uninsured lol Nick
Used MCE loads before dOing my advance test and switching to IAM surety. Always found MCE good Go with tr cheapest basically'
I moved to MCE (well, it's actually Bike Devil, a subsidery of MCE) this year. Basically, all insurance companies are bastards and you'll never get a good review from anyone about them. For me, the cheapest ones are the ones I go with, the only thing I consider looking at is the excess and protected NCB. I've declared all mods too and it came in at a bit over £200.
I have always found MCE quite good, my brother had a few probs with a claim but then I did with CIA, where I know people that have found CIA and MCE good in that situation so I think it's just pot luck on the individual that is dealing with your claim within the call centre like any where you go insurance or not I suppose
There all as bad as each other, just check the excess, mileage, pillion cover etc..... i generally have to swap each year!
Yep all checked, it's actually a much better sounding policy than my renewal too! With a lower excess! And all mods declared!
I got renewal 418 swinton bikes, just done a few comparisons mcn compares cheapest was 181, with Hastings, then compare the Market 108 with wait for it swinton bikes! If I wasn't saving money I'd tell them to stick it!!!
I was with MCE last year and had no problems but got a much better quote from H&R this year, about £100 cheaper.
Agreed. Screw them down as the do us. With the power of the internet it's perhaps at times only our own complacency that blocks us to getting the best deal. Yes individual circumstances play a major factor too, even using the price comparison sites you can still get another bit off the price by going to the provider direct.
I was insured with MCE 2 years back...had no issues - thought i did not need to make a claim watch out for the free brake down cover they give though...its useless!
watch out for the free brake down cover they give though...its useless!
It's ok we dont need brake down cover we all ride Honda's
well i went with MCE - they had fucked it up within half hour lol - but credit to them its all sorted now. All mods listed, by far the cheapest quote I had. Fingers crossed for a trouble free year!
My girl got renewal day or two ago for her 125 they said 96 quid then today take 150! got told to re fund it and piss off....tossers! They did not even ask, just had the bank details and went ahead!
I have not opened a new thread due to the repeat /boredom factor however i have just renewed the blade fully comp with end can 9 years no claims protected for £264.21 .Swinton who i am with phoned yesterday and by chance i was upstairs on the computer so i picked it up which is unusual as we dont normaly bother so the girl explained it is a month early but an extra 15% off bla bla! so i just did it policy starts as the old one runs out so pretty happy with that.
Just renewed with MCE , 32 mods declared £358 with 9 years NCB , just got docs through today , read through them and breakdown cover is useless , rung them up to upgrade to full National recovery with the RAC cost me an extra £36
