Hi, basically I've had some time off today and I wanted to install the HRC Quick throttle ...well everything worked out alright tho its not a job for the faint hearted...I wanted to smash it to bits over and over but took a deep breath and continued.

I've had to take of the tank.. disconnect all the electronics..and a bunch off other stuff from there including the air intakes. Now everything went alright and I managed to get everything done but now the problem arises..when I try to turn on the engine it won't do it..unless I rev it for like 4-5 seconds after which everything is business as usual except the engine light flashes...now I took it out for a ride of 3-5 minutes..but this time the engine light stays on while running..after a bit of hard reving and all that(was hoping its gonne clean some stuff and everthing would be alright) now the bike did turn on after a few tries only buy keeping the button pressed for a while but the engine light keeps flashing and when riding it stays solid..now idk if it was 1 time deal that it started without reving cause I didn't want to torment the engine until I find a bit more info maybe somebody here knows...

Another thing..when the engine starts going its smooth as butter and everything works alright with the exception of the engine light, now I was thinking wires and I double checked everything..but you really can't mess much over there as they are all color coded and the ECU was plugged the whole time..as I took it of together with all the cables.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

You reset ecu since, disconnect battery for 10 minutes, start and let run until fan kicks in then kill switch it. Restart and should clear faults etc. If not I'd say there's something not gone back on right

Just doing that now but In the meantime i found something else...there might me something wrong with the IACV as it doesnt show any resistance when tested and its all located at the throttle body which is where I had to work in order to give slack for the hrc quick throttle tube. Gonna follow this lead if the reset fails which i’m not really hopefull about to be honest.

And because the bike won’t idle I’m thinking thats what it is and ther service manual kinda backs thats

Could well be something disturbed in there, reset wouldn't hurt anything if not.

managed to sort it...after dissembling the bike like 10 times part by part and checking all the voltages..and resistance..and sensors...cleaned all the connectors...just to find out it was the vaccum hose connecting to the map sensor that was out...figured that when I tried to start the bike without it and it fired right up but the code was still there...everything back to normal now...I can finally rest...thanks

Yeah thats what I'm happy about..was kinda worried I'll have to buy a IACV which are pretty hard to find.. but I'll sleep better knowing everything on the bike is checked by myself and everything works...so no previous owner messing with things

    Hi,
Am glad your all sorted. I'm wondering if you are fitting the HRC throttle to a road or track bike? I am thinking of fitting a hrc throttle to my road and occasional track bike due to old wrist injury that is giving me some gyp.
I would be very interested in hearing how you find the throttle if used on a road bike?

    Cheers

    Carl

Hey Carl, I went to test the bike after everything was done and my honest opinion is that they are perfect either for track or road..I'n fact I'll probably use them just like you...road daily and track whenever I can get time..What people I've talked to (who have not got them) seem to think is that it would make the bike choppy ..but it doesn't..its the same smooth predictable power it just gets up there faster ... pair that with -1 tooth front sprocket and +1 on the back and trust me you wouldn't go back...soon as I got on the bike just felt alive... HIGHLY recommended for people that have a good throttle control

    Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. It's enough to convince me that this is the way forward.
I have to do something cos my wrist kills me after doing a trackday.
    Cheers
    Carl
