My brother bought a 2009 Repsol, and after riding it i have to say i prefer my older RR5 Repsol.. I felt more connected with it, where as the newer one just feel so small , and those mirrors look tacky and cheap on the nose cone..and i think a silly place to put them as when you fall you will defiantly end up breaking em..and replacements will not be cheap with integrated indicators.. I did ride it for afew days, and it did take some getting used to, and the bikes to ride different.. is it just me? Anyway...i am glad i never bought the RR9 and brother brother did instead.. ;-) Anyone else had a similar experience..?
Im very supprised your brother let you ride another of his bikes! havent you crashed 2 of his bikes for him already lol I have never ridden the newer model I just preffer the look of the rr5 so have no intention to change
its been that long since I had my RR5 I couldnt really say.but I did sell mine after I got bored with it after four years of ownership (the longest I have owned a bike)
I still miss my 2007 HRC blade in some ways - solid bit of kit, was really tricked up mind unlike the RR6 I set on fire while riding it!
I've never ridden a 08 onwards but I imagine my rr04 is the best because its mine and it keeps up (&beats newer bikes)
I have posted a similar thread before, I traded my RR5 for a new 2011 bike and 1500 miles in and I still prefer the RR5 the issue of connecting with the bike sounds familiar, and it's not built as well?
Well ok.... its a great bike and with my hobbit like height it fits me like a glove..... feels smaller than some 600's i have been on !
All I can say is that I love my RR5. Goes well, stops well and I flippin love it! Only thing I would change it for is an RSV4R.
Having also owned both my 2010 IMO is my faverorite out of the two. Handles better, fits me better, looks better, better built, but its all a matter of opinion!
don't you just love talking shit like this, it what it's all about. I've never had a bad bike just different ones with different experiences, a 400 jap import with a bent frame and blocked carbs but loads of fun, or a baja wr400 that was a bastard to kick start and got nicked, a zx9r that was bullet proof, comfy and lasted forever, a gsxr750 that cartwheeled into oblivion, a KTM adventure taken to full paris dakar spec (dream Bike) but was a nightmare to ride on the road yet gave countless hours of fun in the garage, a R1 which gave me backache but wheelied forever, a 929 which was so light it was like riding the 400 again, and now this rr6 which has plenty of poke for the road and is easy to work on. Whether it's a 04 or 09 or 12 bike it's how they make you feel that counts, god knows what i'll get next but it'll come with memories.
the bike that I do miss is my 848, maybe when I get sorted work wise I will get another one or maybe a 1098
Sam, get yourself down to a+e and get yourself checked out. You may have inadvertantly become a madness-addled insanonaut.
everyone loves the bike there riding now , but the new blade is just superb , but i said that about all my bikes , truth is there all superb , its a bike !
Love my rr5 but my mates '10 looks stunning and goes like fook...(it's neither black or repsol, it's the White 1)
