Just got back from my touring holiday on the blade, Ended up doing just over 2200 miles and visited 5 countries. The blade was superb, never missed a beat. We started by goin over on the tunnel and then heading to Germany via Belgium and holland, Ouur first 3 nights where is a small town called Boppard where all the locals are piss heads and very biker friendly. Whilst in Boppard we went down the Mosul valley which is a must, scenery and roads, then we did the nurburgring, The ring for thoses who haven't bin as a scary place, never seen so many Porsches and other super cars in my life, on the ring like a few people said its better to go faster as possible as the cars don't give you any respect and a few times I got cut up by the Porsches. After the ring we headed down through the black forest to Triberg ( home of the cuckoo clocks) I don't kno if we where in the wrong season but it was like a ghost town after 7pm and we struggled to get a beer after 11pm. For those in the black forest the b500 is insane, there are 10 miles + of 100mph sweeping bends, and the road surface is so grippy. Ill get some pics on later once I download off the camera.
Can't wait to see the pics mate. Always wanted to go to the ring but all I ever hear is how scary it is would you warn people off or say just go ?
great place that part of germany we stayed at the next village upriver from boppard a little place called st goar visited rudenstiem and koblenz and god knows how many castles theres one on every bend of the river!!
I've stayed in Koenigswinter a few times during trade show weeks and it's very, fairy tale Germany, a la Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Mind you, one or two bars there are inhabited still by the remnants of the hitler youth.
The guy next door has just returned from Belsen Concentration Camp and even went into the Gas Chamber not quite what i had in mind for a fairy tale Germany break.
