Due to me knowing my limits and having the DIY capabilities of Mr Bean, it would have been in the dealer quick than you can say '' Don't tighten it that much'', for them to do their stuff.

Cheers for the comments. It's definately the worst gut turning feeling you can have when shit like this happens. Thing is, I can't explain how it happened. My original nose cone has been off and off a lot and never once had an issue. I'd put the nose cone on, fitted the wing mirrors very loosely just to hold the nose cone on and I went about putting the left panel on. All lined up and the lugs intact before even fitting a screw. I went to fit the bolt that would be below your knee when on the bike first. 2 turns of the bolt and I heard that plastic cracking noise, looked at the nose cone and this is what I found. I'm gonna be buying another new nose cone that I'm really not chuffed about, but the bike needs it along with new chain and sprockets, new tyres and I want to replace the seat fairing too. August is gonna be expensive.

faulty if you ask me, they should be that brittle as
the rr4-rr7 plastic's are thicker and more flexable
than the newer ones.lost count the amount of times
I had my RR5 one off and never had a problem.that
crack is shocking for flex damage.try for a refund for faulty goods.

The nose cone went back to Honda, I'll find out tomorrow what's gonna happen. Hardest thing is, it was bought last year, but never fitted until Saturday. I've no idea where I'd stand on warranty, if that even applies.

Fingers crossed you'll get some kind of result, bar accidentally stepping on it I never would have thought it would have cracked like that.

Just got word back and it's not good. If I want to replace the cowl then I've gotta buy a new one. A bit fucked off to be honest!!!
