...in traffic, past a Safety Camera van. Either it was well-hidden or the numpty was too busy showing how small his todger is to notice: 12 month ban for 103mph wheelie biker - North Yorkshire Police It's tw*ts like that that ruin it for the rest of us. It's bad enough round there with heavy police presence as it is due to the high number of bikes, but they're fairly ok with bikers as a rule. Actions like this make them clamp down and start hassling us and ruining our rideouts.
Has he bollox! Well executed if you ask me!! The only stupid thing he done is get caught - let's face it 103mph is 2nd gear.... Not really jack the ripper is he! And tbh - the road doesn't look that busy to warrant the "in traffic" claims... Obviously there evidence is correct though and he deserved his punishment and they haven't made an example of him. Personally the twats that come through my village at 60mph in their cars and BIKES near schools piss me off a great deal more.
3 cars and another bike in close proximity? If the car or bike he overtook pulled out on him he'd be dead now and the other biker wouldn't have come off lightly either. Looking at the traffic and the timing of the recording it was done at rush-hour which given that stretch of road is usually empty at all other times makes it even more stupid that he chose to do it then. Apart from the heroics of doing it at 103mph, the inevitable sense of ill-feeling from the car drivers towards bikers would be justification enough to ban him, in my books.
I was going the photo mate - the rest is statement that you have to take the word of the press report - which I'm sure always describe things to ensure that the worst outcome is portrayed. Lot of ifs and buts to it also mate - he would be dead? Bit of an assumption? Traffic time rush hour mean it's likely to be busy? Fact is, he done a 103mph wheelie, didn't hurt anybody, was stupid but sure he made a judgement (poor one) that at that time he was confident he could do it. I have a lot of Ill feeling towards quite a few members of society but nobody seems to care lol
OP - This thread and your views are lame as fuck. Here's a site you might like:- Volunteering as a special constable or police support volunteer : Directgov - Home and community
Of course there is another explanation worth investigating. The poor bastard may have just traded in his Honda Innova for his first 'proper' bike. Left the dealers and thought "I wonder what'll happen if I twist this all the way." and at the time of the video was screaming " Oh Shit! Oh Shit! Oh Shit! Oh Shit! Oh Shit! Oh Shit! Oh Shit!!!!!!!!!!" It could happen...
That's my only gripe with the OP / situation - the severity and consistentcy of the punishment. Year ban, re do test and community service? Come on... Fella at work got done 130mph in his motor on motorway got an eight day pan and few hundred quid fine! After that all back to normal. IMO both similar stupid acts, poles apart in terms of punishment
It does look a bit of an OTT sentence, I must admit. The ban/extended re-test and hiked insurance premiums would have been punishment enough. Particularly so when you look at cases where bikers have died as a result of another road user's error and where they don't even get prosecuted. Mind you, looking at some cases from the past where speeders caught doing above 140mph have been given weeks/months in jail, the courts aren't scared of making examples of drivers, that's for sure.
Well if this turns out to be one of us, Blaggers is going to have to up his game to stay in pole position for the 1000rr.co.uk 2012 Numpty awards.
