Dunlop Sportsmart is the only way to go. I have used fast road, track tyres but after going 500 road miles, 1 TD then touring for a week or 1800 miles. and still having more tread than I had after using the Bridgestone for 500 miles. Plus the wet and dry level of grip on a trackday was EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone used these tyres and are not impressed I will let Ken sleep with them

I've done loads of reading up on this, I've always had bridgestone, but when these crappy qualifiers are shot I will be going for sportsmarts so may I suggest sportsmarts! Everyone rates them.

metzler interact k3's, I can see there being a problem picking a tyre here lol.

If not these I would go for the sportsmart :) as the best allrounder

I had the Sportsmarts on the Repsol had good mileage out of them and very happy with the grip, but i would not put them on again for the following reasons i found the NCT carcass very hard so going across very bad bumpy roads at a fast pace unnerved the front quite a bit causing it to bounce and the next the price.... i have went back to the 2CT i think the bike is now much better and feels a lots more stable on bumper roads (on even roads i thought both are equal tyres).... now the 2CT seems to let you turn just that little bit later into a corner and the next the price its about £45.00 cheaper and thats a lot ...just a note when i went back to the 2CT it was like starting to ride the bike again because you could turn a little later you could go faster and have a more self belief in the front as it would not bounce so much if you hit a bump mid corner

I would recommend the dunlop gp racer d211's, fantastic tyre for both road and track. Ive not been on track yet but so much grip on the road. Not sure how they will wear but I will just have to wait and see.

It looks like there is a great spread of good tyres to choose from here. This is perhaps why the companys invest millions of pounds plus GP testing to all come up with a quality product hence the slight differance in opinion here .What would a duffer from the 70s give to what we have now?

+1 awesome tyres. iv doe 1500 on mine and more tread left than most tyres. my oe tyres where screwed at 1200. also the way the rugger roughs up on sportsmarts is like no other tyre , feels extremely grippy and confidence inspiring

my vote goes to michelin pure power great grip on road and track, great at changing direction due to their low weight. mileage seems pretty good too but i am on second rear due to a puncture.

To add I was a bridgestone man before. I've had in the past bt20, bt14, bt15,bt16. Tried 2ct's much better than all the bridgestone but the sportsmart are so much better. It took me a while to get the confidence to buy them though. I had qualifiers as oe tyres onmy speed triple and they were horrid. Thought I would never try dun lops again

    But so glad I have

Agreed the qualifiers are very poor tyres, I had no confidence in them at all, I dont understand why honda fit such rubbish tyres to such a good bike ???

I ran 2CT's for 4 years on my last bike, Great tyres and no complaints but i wasnt getting the feedback i am from the Sportsmarts ,, Im shocked to read above that someone has gone back to 2CT's after using Sportsmarts .

If you read all the latest reviews then Sportsmarts are normally on top but to be honest as long as it is a fast road/ trackday tyre then your not going to go far wrong as they are all good

If you read all the latest reviews the S1000RR is put as being the top bike to buy.... so why is it the CBR1000RR is the best seller and sales on the BMW are down 62% from last year.... i dont believe in everything i read....i know you were just saying i never said that the Sportsmarts are not good i just thought the carcass was very hard and the suspension seemed quite hard and bumpy on them and i do think it does turn much better on the 2CTs but thats only my opinion and i am just an old fart anyway.....lol

Chill out mate ,, You run what tyres you like . I wasnt having a pop at your judgment on 2CT's. I said above that i ran them for 4 years with no complaints . Damn good tyre !! All i was saying is that i was shocked someone didnt find Sportsmarts as amazing as i have .
If i couldnt get Sportsmarts fitted then 2CT's would be on the bike with out thinking about it..

I also finished the sportsmarts on top of reviews comment with " but to be honest as long as it is a fast road/ trackday tyre then your not going to go far wrong as they are all good "
