Chaps, had my RR5 about 9 months now. Its a cracking bike but im starting to fall out of love with it a bit. I normally spend a few hundred modding a bike but I just done have the same spark with this. I bought a PC3 and a Yoshi can which sounds nice. Also just put some new rubber on ready for the nicer weather. Im at a bit of a wall, part of me wants to persevere and have a good full summer riding it but the other side just doesn't flick my switch. Any ideas on how I can reinvigorate my love for this bike? Heres the bike below, like I say its lovely to ride.
15 tooth front sprocket, quick-action throttle and book a track day... you will fall in love all over again!
Yes Stanley wait till the good weather turns up then we can meet up a blast it up hartside,I am sure when your front wheel feel light over the kilhope bumps then I am sure you will be in love with it
Best mod I ever did to my RR4 cost me 50 odd quid. Rode it down to Reactive Suspension, just north of York, and paid Gareth there to set up my suspension for me. Totally transformed the riding experience. More comfortable. More confidence in the bike. Superb. I'd also throw some braided brake lines on it if you haven't got them already. Maybe take the rear pegs off if you don't use them. Perhaps some new levers? I have a shorty brake lever and prefer it.
Aye those Killhope rises are awesome haha. Deffo up for a meet up. Been toying with the idea of tracking it had some fun with my old 954 I had one ride up there towards the back end of season last year which was good. I like the idea of the quick action throttle, think there's a HRC kit you can get on ebay with the cables?
PM your number and when weather changes I will give you a call and put a smile on your face you'll be rejuvanated
Was only talking about getting my suspension set up the other day and wondering where to go! That's not far and a nice ride up for me, ill give them a bell, it's only for road use but for £50 that's bob on
Check out my thread, "Operation Blackness... My Winter Build..." Might be a few ideas on there for you mate
It might be a little bit more than 50 quid now. I had it done a couple of years ago and it was 54 quid then. Well worth it though.
What a gorgeous looking bike Stan! I have an RR5 that I've tracked, and although it's quite heavily modded, I'd have it over my road-going RR8 any day!! The RR8 is sat in the garage covered in crap, as Andy and Marion will testify to. While my RR5 is shining and dripping in goodies and about to get abused tomorrow at Oulton!
that's a nice looking blade, like the guys have said wait til the better weather arrives and one ride out you'll be in love again
