I found this, but its for the V and newer blade..

2009 Honda CBR 1000RR Power Commander V installation - YouTube

I just used Dynojet's instructions. Simple enough and easy to follow.

Hi there, it takes about 1 1/2 hours to do. I mounted the actual PC unit in the tail unit, just behind the right hand side vent. Run the wiring down the left hand side of the bike . Make sure that your riders seat still seats properly though. the wiring for the injectors is straight forward, just a bit fiddly. When lowering the tank after, just make sure that none of the wiring is getting caught up. Any problems, I can check on mine when i get home and send photos if you like. I would also get the bike down to a dyno and have a custom map put on. It will be slightly more refined than the pre loaded ones (but there is nothing wrong with them). I managed to get 166hp at the back wheel of my RR5 with a PC3, K&N filter and Quill GP1 can. Have you done the flapper mod too?

That sounds like a good deal to me as a custom map is usually between £100 - £150, and yes it is worth it :) my bike is so much better now it is mapped :)

Hi there, I would agree with Jamie and certainly go with a custom map and at that price it is worth it for sure. I couldn't find the exact map for mine from dynojet and found it was running rich at the bottom end. A custom map on a dyno will cure this and also give you a nice print off to say what power your bike is producing.
The flapper mod is dead simple to do. I can't remember which pipe it is exactly, but if you type it into you tube, there are some very good videos on there. Only tip I would say is that the pipe didn't come off for me when the engine was cold, so let it run for a few minutes and it is so much easier. It does make the engine slightly more responsive at lower rpm, but combine that with a PC3 and custom map and all should be good. If you can, then add on some K&N or Pipercross air filters whilst you are installing the PC. i would say that you should motice a nicely changed Blade after this. As I say, if you need photos of either the PC3 or flapper pipe, let me know.

A custom map is only worth the money if the dyno op knows exactly what he's doing.
Install the PC yourself, download a map that suits your bike and modifications, then see if you still think you need a custom map.
