I think the headlight and dash use the same loom so I'd check the connection to the main loom and make sure it full pushed together?

starter switch may be stuck half way down, give it a give wiggle and maybe spray with some contact cleaner

I had the same thing with no dash display or headlight. Looked through wiring diagram and found out the headlight is fed from the dash. I disconnected the battery, re-connected and it's all working OK again. Haven't had the problem since fingers crossed.

I think it may have something to do with starting the bike while still having battery charger connected causing voltage spike, that's what I reckon happened to mine.

Mine has done this twice now . Around 11 months apart. Both times disconnected battery resolved problem. Always carry screwdriver now. First time it happened was at work and not connected to charger.

Overcharging or voltage spike I reckon as mine did it when I started it with charger still switched on.
