Following on from the trade or upgrade thread I started I just wanted some advice if anybody has any experience of insuring a bike with no headlights or indicators ? I assume it is possible as it would be road legal with a MOT with brake light and speedo etc, but would the isnurance need to be informed and if so would they say the risk of an accident with no indicators was increased so the premium went up ?
Blade mate, if they're gonna start excluding people for putting crash bobbins and stickier tyres on their bikes then they're gonna tear you a new one for fielding a track bike as showroom.
Good point but I thought they were retracting this no modification nonsense or did I get it completely wrong ? sought of throws a curve ball into the idea of building a special
Just beening thinking surely heavily modified streetfighters get isnured so I m guessing it must be possibly ?
There is actually no thing as 'daytime mot' but yes it's possible to get insurance For them, oh, and you dont even need a Brake light, audible warning device and number plate only!
I'm with Carole Nash and I sent a list of mods to them which was considerably extensive so I dont see why if you list everything on the bike, they wont insure you so long as its road legal. They were fine with everything and only seemed to be concerned with things like "Has it got a Supercharger?" - i wish! lol. I would just say it has aftermarket fairings rather than saying its a race bike.
