Just thought I'd browse the bike insurer get a few quotes as I need to renew soon...WTF, it's dearer than last year plus I now have 1 NCB ??

I'm 30, no claims, no points, and it's still coming out at £700 ish...?

Anyone an insurance broker/could reccomend a good insurance companie who'll be competitive..?

I went for an 07 HRC blade last year over a 675r as it was cheaper!

Both my car policy's have just gone down a little, hopefully my bike insurance will follow suit in march as all 3 are with the same broker, Chaucer Direct.

In November I changed my bike from a 08 HRC to a 11 HRC, no extra but I had to pay a £50 admin fee wtff? I told them I will go somewhere else when it is up for renewal. My car insurance was also due at the same time, I got the renewal notice which was around £60 higher than the best price I got on go compare, phoned the company and said can they match it or get close for me to stay with them and they said deals were only possible for new clients! I asked why they did not value existing clients and was fobbed off with some lame excuse. They then suggested that I phone them back when it is due for renewal again and they would try and match the best quote as I would then be a new client. How mad is that.

I'm with Swinton on a multi bike policy and for the 3 bikes it's £680. 31 years old and 4 years NCB
They had to switch the NCB onto the SP1 though as it was dearer to insure than even the blade, go figure??

38 years old with 4 years NCB and it's come out at 179 quid with 40 quid cash back. I honestly don't know why.

Have a 2 bike policy with Hastings, fully comp and reasonable excess, £190. This was a renewal, first time i've done this! Problems started when I received a letter from the Motor Insurance Database, warning me my vehicle was not insured. Contacted Hastings and was assured it would be sorted. About a month later got a fixed penalty fine for non-insured vehicle! contacted Hastings was assured again, it would be sorted. Around another month passed and i needed to renew tax, couldn't renew by phone or on-line. 3rd call to Hastings, again was assured it would be sorted. Went into Post Office with certificate to get tax. Hopefully it is now sorted.
Also had an issue with house insurance, this time the renewal quote was vastly inflated so read as far as the amount and binned it. Found a much cheaper quote, job done I thought! However bank statement showed the renewal had gone ahead, which i was not happy about. Apparently I was supposed to contact the insurers to say i did want to renew, as i didn't read that far, I did not contact them. They assumed this meant I wanted it and renewed. Contacted bank, who explained that as soon as I give my debit card details to pay this constitutes a direct debit and the company can take the money as and when! Now trying to recoup money, but looks like they will take a cancellation fee.

You guys need to stop complaining!!

37 years old, 3 or 4 years NCB, living in SW London, commuting, pillion cover... Over a grand easy!!!

    Quit your bitching!!!

Gonna really take my time and get a good quote this time though... But I cannot take TPFT cuz the bike is financed.

    True.

My best quote FullyComp on a new Blade is £920

45, Clean Licence, nice post code, Bike Garaged, under 4K miles per annum

KILLER is Zero NCB as been off bikes for over a Decade!

I've found that the Bike-Trader website via Autotrader consistently gave the best prices. ;)
