Need to renew my insurance. It's a multi bike policy for an 08 Blade and SP2. Everything the same as last year with no convictions or claims to declare, only change is I have put a set of forged dymag alloys on the SP2 which has increased my policy by £200 because of the wheels.

I have shopped around and still can't beat my renewal and the 200 increase is after I have secured a 170 discount.

I wish I never mentioned the wheels but I have now so will have to deal with it.

My question is has anyone got any experience of getting insurance with forged wheels fitted or got any helpful advice ?

Yeah thought about that one but as there staying on I don't want to take the risk as its now on my file notes that I made the enquiry so if I make a claim and they check I won't get paid out and could be charged with fraud.

Bit of a random story but shows they want all the cash but when theres a problem imhad a nightmare When my bike was nicked from brands many moons ago they made me feel like a thief I even had random strangers seeing it being bungled in the back of a van and left statements with police I even had a voice recognition person who could supposedly tell by your tone if your lying ring me to ask why I though my bike was stolen my response I ain't a thief f**k knows ! !!! .ohlins forks and shock bst wheels this was of course left off my offer at first and I'd paid extra for them I know what you mean though £200 seems a bit steep for rims as a extra

Anything modified from standard has to be declared and thus lets the Ins Co' Av ya Pants down big time!

We run a Mercedes E320 Diesel Sport Estate which when standard cost us £400 Fully Comp.
    It's a 150mph Car and cost £40K new so I don't think that's too bad considering.

    Now..................................

When I modded it by fitting lowered adjustable suspension, a mild re-map taking it from 230 up to 265 BHP and fitting 19" wheels plus an 8 pot AMG Brake kit the insurance shot up to £730!

Not too bad some might say?

Not until I got a quote for a standard E63 AMG Estate which came out at £550 with Sainsbury's Insurance!
Bear in mind the E63 has a 6.2 lire V8 engine pumping out 525 BHP and will do the 60 dash in 4.2 secs and top out at 200mph de-restricted, oh and costs £85K new

So there you have it, you're better off buying a standard vehicle or Bike that has the performance and blingy bits straight from the factory as far as insurance is concerned!
