My insurance is due for renewal fairly soon and I'm getting quoted £550 fully comp as the cheapest. What did you guys and gals find to be the cheapest quote? 3 years NCB 4 years riding 24yrs old 2010 RRA <5000 miles a year Social,D+P Should i go for it?
£135 here. Limited to riding 5000 miles. Then again I'm 38, live in a relatively low-crime area with the bike kept ground anchored to the floor in a locked garage that's protected 24/7 by syphillis-carrying attack chihuahuas.
Anyone done any of these coursea to reduce cost? What thinga affect the premium the most? Ive only had 4 years experience with insurance. .
Claims, age, security/storage/ area you live, experience and endorsements. No course will make any differance, well thats not true they will save you about £15-20 a year and cost more than 10 times that to do. Shiny
Yeah I've got an Sp30 but don't think one speeding offense makes any difference.. Ill probably not bother with a course if thats the case!!
that well high.... how many year car NCB you got???? I was told it also depend on what car you have had!!!! weather that true or not i can't say. i'm with hasting and pay loads less. but all it all i think its your age
Try a quote without the SP30 to see if it is a factor. Most car insurers now penalise a single SP30/50, some (admiral Group) even penalise you for doing the speed awareness course.
£220 fully comp with BikeSure £0 excess 7 Years NCB 37 years young Garaged in a W London Postode 20K Miles per year SD&P On my driveway it was £600 + £2000 Excess! Found that having previous experience on a Litre bike (CB1000R) bought the premium down nicely.
didn't make a bean difference to me..... but you never know. i thinks it really is just your age....... is it your only mode of transport????
Yeah only got a motorbike license never been interested in cars even as a nipper! Previous bikes ive had are 650 sv1000 and 600rr which should i put as previous bike or is it just CC? might of missed that bit lol..
last year my insurance was £380 fully comp. I was 31 years old, 4 years NCB, 3k miles a year social d&p with express insurance. this year with zero NCB its £580. I knew I should of protected my NCB
sv 1000 as it shows you have a liter bike. if its your only mode of transport then that really screws you up. i know cia are about miles done on road. i do 60k a year in my van. for last 15 years.. made massive difference.. if you insure for less than 5k a year... you have only done 20k on road??? Then you age, i'm 32 so makes a big difference. i have only had bikes four years ... so 4 year NCB and this is my first 1000. i pay less that £200. i'd imaging York a relativity low crime zone, have you tried the bikeinsurer.co.uk ??? i never claim any security on a bike cause what if you claim you have a disc lock on , stop outside shop and sh$t happens.... most charge a extra excess.
Deffo put the SV1000, for me 1000cc experience brought the premium down several hundred. I bought my previous CB1000R because I could not justify the premium (about £500), -a year later checked again, with 1 years experience on a litre it went down to £200 odd - go figure!. I'm sure 1 years NCB extra and being older made a difference but the litre experience (I'm guessing) was the main factor.
