Question: is the o2 sensor mounted before the cat or after on 2012 face lift abs blade as i've bought a yoshimura r77 slip on and wonder do i need an o2 eliminator to keep the mil light off.... im thinking if its before the cat it will be fine as it's fitted upstream of the cat it won't know there no cat on as its just reading gas before it gets to the cat to make its air/fuel adjustments IN SHORT WILL IT BRING ON THE ENGINE LIGHT JUST FITTING A SLIP ON (with the o2 sensor screwed into the new link pipe) thanks Adam
If you don't have a lambda sensor hole in the yoshi? Then yes you will need to use an O2 eliminator or as you have said you will get a warning light on the dash If it's got the hole just screw the sensor in, just be careful to make sure you twist it back the number of turns so that the cable straightens out when screwed back in
Lambda sensors are always fitted before the cat units on vehicles, more updated systems can run two or more probes in the exhaust system one before and one after to verify the system is working and make more efficient adjusts from the data recieved from the multiple sensors! If your fitting a power commander or similar you will be best to install an O2 eliminator as this will allow the tuning adjustments made in the PC to control the fuelling rather than the OEM ECU using the lambda sensor and making its own adjustments which will throw off the PC mapped settings!
Before the CAT. No warning lights when I fitted my Termi, however U can tell the fueling is a tadge rough at very low speeds now compared to the stock Can. Upside is it feels better once over 3-4K and sounds ACE. Nowt a PCV won't sort out I spose.
I have fitted a Leo Vince and without the baffle the bike is "hunting" with the baffle all is good a mate said to fit an 02 eliminator and that will cure the problem? I assume I am better going with a PCV too? My bike is a 2012 thanks
