The Big meet in the middle is a logistical nightmare...... But defiantly worth a try.. Maybe Fez could organise the Northerners..

The sv650.org forum that I am also a member of have been doing this every year for as long as I can remember.

They often have 100+ bikes / members meeting up, and it's held in different parts of the country every year.

Normally different regions of the forum put together a proposal, then the member vote on the best proposal.

It started out as 30 people camping in a field, with a ride arranged around the local roads... now they often have entertainment and a burger van etc.

Always works out great though, and definetely doable.

Well its something i would certainly like to happen. what do people think would be the best idea. A daytime meet or an overnight stop to help people from far away

I'd definitely be in for this. I'd say daytime + overnight Fez, that way people can do whatever suits them best...

Yeh im sure if we organised something in or around the midlands we could get a bloody good turn out. Nottingham area is fairly central to most of us or somewhere around that area, but what kind of thing could we arrange ?

On previous forums I've been on there was a lot of meets, normally at a Service Station car park somewhere to start, give everyone time to get a face (and real name) acquainted to the forum moniker.

After that - well, the worlds your oyster. Although a ride followed by some grub and drinks is an option you could never go wrong with...

    I'd go with GSp suggestion
"Normally different regions of the forum put together a proposal, then the member vote on the best proposal" put up a few areas & get everyone to vote & defo an over nighter

An early ish meet, perhaps get in touch with a good cafe/food van and take over part of a car park etc. small Airfields always work... I often go Lincolnshire (fenland) middle of knowhere and large biker groups meet there very often. And I do wish it was fireblades!

I was at the ACE cafe blade day last year and like Carl already mentioned,
nothing was organized. No time frame and I did not know who was who neither.
Didn't see any members. But the ACE cafe could be a good meeting point!

The midlands is deffo a good central point for a North/South destination.

I agree, the midlands would surely be the fairest point for all involved. Disagree with using somewhere already populated by bikers such as the ACE - would be far too easy to allow our numbers to be diluted there.

    How about....

Sunday 25th August ??? (Or sat 24th) Then people have the bank hols also to enjoy time with family/friends.

I do think Lincolnshire or that way would be better for most, plus the roads are amazing for big group rides...?

Just a thought, but Rutland water might be a good place? Also have a good cafe!

Either that or I reckon I could get a meet at the airfield, they have good food/cakes etc.

    What d'ya reckon chaps?
