After sitting under its cover for 20 months, decided its time to ride again. Spent 2 days on and off servicing it and a new battery and it’s off for a MOT tomorrow. Took me an hour to work out why the flasher unit was clicking away and the indicators weren’t flashing, had cleaned out the switch gear before putting it away and looks like the electrical grease I used was causing a HR in the switch, blasted that out and all restored too normal. Sort of back in love with it again. Know you’ve all seen it before, but so what
Love this, remember sitting on one of the later models with black wheels before I'd passed my test........ was desperately wanting it!
Thanks for all the positive comments. New MOT garage, pleasingly through to the point of by the rule book, and sailed through. KB is back on 2 wheels at last Guess I'd better pull the Blade out and give it the same treatment.
just cought this thread. she's bloody lovely @Kentblade . and I'll join in by saying I'd love one myself .
Thought I would socially distance myself from the wife today and took a run down to Rye and back, just had to retrain the brain and remember you need to ride it like a 2 stroke to make it work properly, what a pleasure it was to ride it again, got one big smile on my face tonight
I remember doing a Honda race school at Cadwell Park on a VFR400 years ago, it was ace, great fun. Beautiful bikes.
After a 4 week major service, it was finally time to put it in front of my local MOT tester. He’s a guy I know well, but gives no quarter to anyone and is well known to show no mercy to anyone who rocks up on a bike that’s not fully prepared for the inspection, so just the man I need to give a professional view to my amateur mechanic skills, apart from the usual rice cracker comments from a man that’s more at home with a Hog, it passed without issues. So we’re back on the road for another season
