I'm thinking of taking a trip to Mugello next year to watch the MotoGP race. Always fancied seeing Rossi on his home turf.

I'm thinking over spreading the trip over about 10 days with no real agenda other than to chill in Tuscanny for 2-3 days over the race weekend. Route would likely take in the Black Forest, Switzerland etc.

    Just wondered if anyone was:

    • Thinking of going themselves next year?
    • or would be interested in being involved in a group ride/trip there?

Cool. I've done a couple of 10-11 day European tours and took in an F1 race at Spa on one but never done a European MotoGP race. I'm thinking Rossi at Mugello has to be one of the better ones to do.

If you are serious nearer the time let me know.

Yeah sounds great. I'm quite laid back about stuff so I'm sure we can sort something out. And if someone wants to make it shorter or stay longer then even if we only hook up for part of it or just the race that would be cool too.

Excellent. Well I'm almost certain in going anyway and I won't be booking anything in advance (except tickets and accommodation at circuit) so no agendas where we stay on route etc. Never booked rooms in advance in he past and we always found great places to stay. Depends on how many are up for it I suppose.

you must camp at the circuit Fri and Sat night - otherwise you are missing out on the whole Mugello experience, trust me on that

And you need a good deal of time to ride there and back and enjoy it - 4 days each way which almost makes it a 2 week trip but its great, or fly in!

Both Euro trips I've done I stayed in B&B's and hotels. I decided against camping for security reasons and all the gear I'd have to take. Must admit though I do like the idea of it.
