Well despite a lot of sleepless nights I've finally made the move and chopped in the Blade along with HID lights for a new BMW S1000RR, pick it up on Sat week. I did a lot of thinking about what I want from a bike because the Blade is fantastic. The final choice was not bike related at all. My Dad in Law recently got cancer and I thought that life was too short to worry about whether or not to change bikes, so I did it. I'll stay on this forum though, it's one of the best forums on t'Internet, no ar5eholes and plenty of banter, made a few mates too. It's gonna be a good summer
We (I) don't mind what you ride fella, the forum is about more than just the bike, that's why I think we all love it so much, it has more of a family feel. I love the S1000RR its a great bike (apart from the lights lol) and would be very interested to see what you do to it and what it feels like in comparison to the blade. You are right life is to short, I hope you enjoy every second of your new ride ! Remember PICS !!!!
Fckin traitor!!!! oh well, s'pose it's still got two wheels and we've all got common enemies. Look forward to the write up and some piccys. Glad to hear ya not leaving the forums. Enjoy, you only get one stab at wife. Oops, sorry, I mean life.
It was a choice between that and my Repsol......so let us know how you get on with it mate....ps change all those crappy plastic bits to carbon (far better) IMO.......
Good luck with the new bike and please stay around for photos but more important an honest review .Its the lights that put me off ,but i would think an headlight protector may improve things.
The BMW is a bloody good bike, all of em are solid bikes.I chose the blade cos there was no bike apart from the BMW that was as good for the money.Second hand BMW or new blade so new blade it was.Enjoy it and pics too.
Great bike bud and please let us know what you think of her, it was the Beemer or the blade for me and as the Beemer was more cash I choose the blade. Do really like the bm though even the fugly headlight! Lol enjoy.
All the best with the new bike mate, glad you are hanging around. I dont know how you all cope with 180BHP and 170Kg on the road, i was so mad on my 'Busa i had to sell it, i really dont know how you guys manage it i really dont. <Old man mode off>.
A future review with the BMW vs Blade would be very good, at least it will be an impartial review by an actual owner of both who is not being paid by the manufacturer etc. Good luck and stay safe.
My mates 2012 is about to go for its recall! Engine out and god knows what so they can sort the crank con rod bolt problems! At least BMW are open about it unlike Ducati (he also has 1199Tri ABS) who seem to claim oil burning is "normal" but them Honda claim the same I guess....lol I see Althea and other have now pulled the 1199 from racing as too many going bang!! Mind you racing is nothing like road riding...... or is it?
