Guys, so i've just had my blade delivered this morning, first thing i did is fit my carbon Yoshimura, I'm very happy. I took the bike out for a spin this afternoon and there seems to be a couple of things wrong. First of all when i go to set off from a standstill the bike seems to judder or vibrate slightly until i get to 5mph ish and it stops and rides fine, i can go to less than 5mph slowing down then set off again without stopping and it doesn't do it. is the a characteristic of the bike or should i have the dealers look at it? Secondly above 100 I'm getting bad vibrations from the wheels, i don't even know why I'm mentioning this as they will just need balancing so ill let them know about that as well. That aside i absolutely love it, my arse is killing me as I'm not used to the seat yet but the bike is so much better than my R6, its so manoeuvrable through the corners, it turns in very nicely and changes direction like the wind. love it!
if you bike is new and under warranty, your supplier should be your firs point of contact. If not, then give us some info like model, year , ileage etc. I am sure someone can give you a suuggestion. The bike shold ride smoothely from 0 to 180. Driving at crawling speeds (0~8 mph) should be smooth; you may have to slip the clutch when it gets close to 0 through. if you have changed the exhaust then wait for feedback on assicated fueling issues/ mods you may need to investigate. you must be very boney if the seat is troubling if you ride for less than 1hrs at a time ) well this is in my case!) I think the bike is great too
If bikes brand new could just be the clutch settling in. Check rear wheel alignment if you think you're getting vibrations from wheels.
The bikes not new it's a 60 plate but ta only covered 4500 miles. I didn't think about alignment. I'll get the dealer to look at it next week. I'm hoping the PCV will stop the rumbling whilst setting off, I read someone had a similar issue with a ZX10. I suppose my arse is a little boney but it never bothered me on the R6, it's just a skinny seat on the blade. I'll get used to it
the standard seat on the blade is like a plank o wood, nae gid, the comfort gel seat is very good tho in comparison
It is like a plank, I'm surprised to see so many people saying how good it is. Where can I get a Gel one? eBay or the dealers? Is a cheapy Chinese one any good or do Honda do a decent one? Thanks matey.
i got mine from on here, they come up every now again, ebay sometimes comes up with them, the genuine honda comfort seat is not cheap, dealer prices are silly expensive, but the seat does make a big difference, you can also get your seat recovered with gel inserts etc Daz
Sent the bike back to the dealers today who have tested it and admitted they too can feel the juddering when setting off and they think it may be the clutch, apparently there was a clutch recall on the Fireblades but there not 100% yet?
