Hey guys, Just wondered if i should re-use the underseat heat shield when i refit the new akravopic or try to trim it down heavily as i have a harris taile tidy and a lot of the heatsheild is on show when refitted?? I`ve noticed that there is some heat shield matting fitted to the underside of the plastic underseat bit which i`m unsure is stanadard of where perhaps a previous owner has had an aftermarket exhaust on Cheers Lockster
You won't need the alloy heat shield , I just used some heat reflective silver tape on the plastic .When I fitted my full system . Never had a problem .
I ran a full system without the shield or anything...no issues what so ever even after it was removed..
I would buy some heat proof metallic tape (you can get it from screwfix) No Nonsense Aluminium Foil Tape Silver 72mm x 45m | Building Tape | Screwfix.com My bike was fine without it, until it went on the dyno and obviously didn't have a lot of airflow around it. It melted the plastic slightly
