9 of us doing a short trip to scotland on the sunday we plan on watching the bsb at knockhill whats the best corner to watch from?? Is there seating at any part of the track?? or grass banks only.
hadnt noticed this thread, would recommend a spot down at the lower end of the circuit, great view of the bikes coming over from the start/finish and down seat curves, scotsmans and duffus dip. probably see around 50% of the track. one thing though, they are making a big deal of the new banking for viewing from all around, but its only earth! a few days of rain and it would be a swamp. lots of gravel down at some parts so would hope its mostly complete for bsb. ,also get there early! heres hoping for a dry day and great racing! they are currently doing a full weekend ticket for £28, bought one last week but may only make sunday.
I usually go to the inside of the circuit, then down to corner 2. You see them hiking round 1, downhill through two and into three. You can see all the way to the start of the back straight but it is a distance to watch from 3 onwards!!
aye i used to always go to the inside, the hill is good, but its a long long way to the toilets and the food vans
There's food vans in the centre . . . Or I'm sure there was last time!! Toilets are the other side of the bridge!!
Cheers for info, not buying tickets be forehand because if by any luck its a nice day i think we will do the twistys and give the racing a miss.
Poor jocks the highlight of the year (Besides Burns night) and its always raining .I bet the riders are getting a bit cheesed with it as well ,lets hope for the best as i am heading up to Scotland next week .Got my umbrella and midge repellent all i need now is a smoked kipper and i am set up.
its not a great weather forecast for the weekend, but it will still be good. for spectating i heard there will be two big screens, one will be at the hairpin not sure where the other one will be.
wish i hadnt bought an advance ticket now. i know it will be great racing but no way i,m taking bike now. at least i can stack more waterproofs and stuff in car. the place will be lke a swamp! last nights rain was the heaviest i,ve seen in a long time. scariest drive home after a night shift (during which i got soaked) car aquaplaned 3 times, . was at pheonix honda before going into work, had the samsung honda crew there, good raffle prizes but as usual won feck all.
