Mate of mine has an old Vespa 125 & intends riding it on his full car licence . Doesn't really know how long can he ride it for before taking a full bike test or another cbt. And does he have to take a cbt before he goes on the road with it . And also his licence says he can ride a 36kw machine . What is a 36kw machine 250 cc ??

He needs a cbt before going on the road if he doesn't have a bike licence, think cbt's last 2 years now used to be 3

+1, he needs a CBT. Many people think a car license will cover you, but the clue is the name, Compulsory. Although as a full car license holder he can send it back to the DVLA along with a CBT certificate and he will have permanent learner entitlement to ride up to a 125.

Thought he may have to do a cbt every time it ran out or when it runs out after so many times do you lose entitlement to ride one for a year ? Will try talk him into taking the test but at £800 all in it ain't for everybody who wants to ride a scooter
