What is everyone using to clean leathers? I use a 'Dubbin' restorer as a preservative, but I'm more interested in what is used to clean off bugs etc. @Stevie_d should be able to assist, because like Steve, I wear a Repsol jacket (but not on the MV) and keeping the white leather clean is my query.
Sorry.....am I reading that right.... You're wearing a REPSOL jacket .... On your HRC's Thats like those folks who use Waitrose bags to put their Netto shopping in.....
As said by others baby wipes are good for cleaning. If I want to do more than that I just rob the Wife's tack cleaning box as horse riders have been looking after leather for a lot longer than bikers. When she is back I will ask her what the stuff is called, doubt it is overly cheap but it does last a long time. Update: Use Neatsfoot if leather is old, dried out or brittle. Use Jerreries Leather Care after cleaning
Yes, I thought I might raise a few eyebrows. But the real reason is that'd I'd much prefer to be seen in an ostentatious Repsol jacket - with HRC badges, mind you - than a workman's flouro-yellow safety vest. And don't get under my skin, Lozzy, for you never know if I might be a candidate when it's time to sell YOUR REPSOL - with a generous discount for those 'excitement marks' you earlier spoke of
Not used it on leathers, but works a treat on leather seats. AutoGlym leather cleaner & care balm https://www.autoglym.com/leather-cleaner https://www.autoglym.com/leather-cleaner-balm
Thanks Ray, and I don't even have to go into the baby aisle to buy it. Bit worried about the 'disclaimer' about using on household leather. Weird, because leather is leather: tanned and dyed. I guess they're just covering their butts in the event of someone rubbing the colour out of their 1922 burgundy Chesterfield!!
Already bought some 'Huggies' baby wipes. Because of the importance I place upon my leathers and bike kit, I felt it essential to give the baby wipes a trial run. I'm sure none will want too much info on this point, but it is safe to report that I now have the smoothest, lanolin-enriched butt cheeks in West Midlands! Jacket came up well too, by the way, and I'm now about to give it a good workout with Dubbin.
I agree with Lozzy's rain comment. Which means I spent 2 days cleaning my leathers this week Do they even still exist, or are they in supermarket heaven along with Safeway
Hmm...possibly....but at least they won't have a queue of sweaty leather clad bikers in the baby wipe aisle
I use some leather cleaner/conditioner from a saddlery place , cut a paint brush down with some scissors so the bristles are a bit shorter and stiffer . Apply cleaner and work in with brush . Then wipe clean , try get ingrained dirt out
Thought that pic would turn up when I saw this thread Wonder if anyone ( @Lozzy ?) will play on the reflected images on the screen
