Based on the sorry tales I've read on here I would say the owner was taking a massive risk parking it up in public in the city if London.
Doubt it mate, they don't seem to give a fcuk about theft in city.... And tbh, see some lovely bikes parked up owners at work rolling the dice weather be there or not after a days graft....
I'd like to think so... But sadly, I agree with Jimbo. If I were a cynic, I'd say someone likes the increased premiums you get charged after a claim... They even put my damn CAR insurance up because I had a bike stolen. HTF does getting a bike stolen justify an extra £200/year on my bloody car insurance! H
Doesn't make sense does it on the insurance but we know what they are like. Yesterday I had to walk from Moorgate to London bridge which takes about 15 mins. It was kicking out time around 5, and in that 15 mins I saw a zx10, gsxr, panigale, 600rr, and loads if other stuff. Clearly the risk is worth it to some, either that or they have secure underground parking. Must admit, in the sea of scooters, cabs, and buses, it's great to hear a sportsbike ripping it up.
I ride my blade into the city. As does KentBlade... Sometimes I park underground at a site in town (Very secure ) and sometimes next to KB's... (Although I have yet to see his new bike). I also see 600RR's (Truckloads parked on side of road), Ninjas, gsxr's... Even an S1kRR or two... (In fact stand at the Aldgate circle and a sports bike will pass you every minute). H
Been off the road for a month due to working abroad and holidays The bad times return Monday, bike has been covered up, so will not know what's hit it. As far as increased premiums go, like Kiwi, hike up in my bike and car insurance and to really take the pi*s and 20% increase in my wife's car insurance just for being a named driver. As far as City plod and bike theft, I would not cross the road to pi*s on them if they were on fire. Your just a number on a stats sheet, and they don't care.
