Hi All, I think after 3 years my battery has given in, it barely holds charge for a couple of weeks now. So I am looking at replacing it with a Lithium battery. Has anyone on here had one for a longer period of time? Any opinions, advice (where to buy, brands etc) Is there any reason as to not use one. Any information would be great. Cheers Pete
check out here http://1000rr.co.uk/general-1000rr-discussion/8217-5.htm bottom of the page I got a SPS Lithium battery. Loses power slower than a gel battery. cracks very well and other than the need for a Lithium charger found it to be bloody good
I know they do a specific Lithium batt model Sinewave, don't know if the 4 duals do. Doesn't say anything about them on my 4. OptiMate Retail Chargers
I've had this one for a few months and it's performing better than standard battery so far... YTZ7S Lithium Ion Battery | SkyrichBattery.com

Is there any issues with having accessories on the bike with a lithium battery? I have a starcom system wired in and I may also install a pc3 or pc5 now I have the yoshi fitted.
I have gone for a ultra batt charger from DT. half the price of the Optimate and just as good. It's only needs to be used once a month so not like the optimate where you keep it on. but as the Lithium battery does not discharge half as quick as a standard battery it's more than enough
Ok maybe this will be my last question. How would I cross reference the battery used in my abs blade to one of those batteries?
Has anyone any experience of buying from this place in the link ? SkyrichBattery Only ask as the website is just a simple one pager with no really info. Probably being over paranoid but in this day and age when we hand money over electroncially to a trader rather than an established shop you do not know who you are dealing with and their reuptation unfortunately.
Well, i decided to not bother going lithium in the end. I got a MotoBat one with a higher torque crank for £35 from Wemoto. With road tax, bike service and holiday to pay for this month its had to take a back seat and maybe a future mod. Thanks for all the advice though everyone!

Good link mate! I get lots of Q's re LiPO batts on storage and charging... They do need propper care, most important thing is the VOLTS, if a charging runs up to around 15V then you have a problem with LiPO batts, some advice is you can use a normal charger but thats not always the case, pays to read up
