I have contacted the e mail address supplied which ends in stbcloud.co.uk, I have received a reply from a different address ending in stbcloud.co.uk -

    Hello,
The bike is still for sale in excellent condition. All necessary documents available. My current location is Scotland due to my work commitments. If this is going to be a quick sale, I will let it go for £1600 delivered at my costs.
The deal will go through eBay and PayPal.
    Thank you

IS THIS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE ? IS THIS A SCAM ? if I pay by paypal I should be covered from fraud shouldn't I ? with her (names Alice on the email) working away I have no way of looking at the bike before hand, I have a contact no. and email address what questions would you ask the seller to try and discover the condition of the bike and if it is a scam ? just seems to good to be true to me ....

Difficult to say it's a scam, but does ring alarm bells. Either way you're not completely covered other than perhaps by your credit card company. My guess is that the seller would withdraw or transfer the funds from the registered PayPal account, which will affect your chance of getting money back from PayPal. Ebay may be more secure if they cover it with the money back guarantee?

My advice would be to get someone local to check it out. I did this with mine, it was won on ebay up Scotland, a mate of mine went to look at it then I left a deposit. The seller then rode it to my mates house in Scotland (or you could arrange someone to collect it) at which point the balance was then handed over. My only risk was paying the deposit after my mate had checked everything out in person.

Its a scam Julian, similar example on Rip Off Britain a few weeks back and what's more there's no buyer protection on Gumtree, stay away is my advise.
Have just put stbcloud.co.uk into google search and it all says SCAM on each search link.

Ask where in Scotland and say your mate who works on the rigs and lives up there will collect in van and ask for the postcode and house number - you will NEVER hear anything again

eBay and gumtree are the same company so if they had any common sense they could prob work out that details match
