My brother has lost his locking wheel nut key for his car which has no engine in etc so can't be taken to a garage so needs to be a DIY job
I tried to wack a socket on but it's a wierd type which is round/smooth on the outside and a pattern in the middle (flower shape)
Any ideas how to get them off?

You need a removal kit, They are sockets with a left hand thread inside as apposed to a hex/nut fitment, i think halfrauds sell em if not then maybe screwfix or evilbay

Hi buddy I remove loads of these when cars come in without them the outer ring will spin . Get a good heavy chisel pointed end and whack away if nuts were torqued up correctly they come out easily . If used excessive force it might be a nightmare took me 2 hours to do 4 the other day . We have a wheel but removal tool but it's useless . Last resort take leg off with wheel and take to a engineering /tyre company they will get it off

Best way is to use a stud extractor drill a pilot hole then then screw the extractor into it and undo
