I think I've tried just about every setting with sensitivity, and kill time. The last setting were Sensitivity of 55 and kill time of 70 and I'm still getting missed gears or false neutrals although this last setting was the best out of all those I've tried. When it does change its silky smooth going from 3 to 4 to 5 to 6 but lurches from 2 to 3rd...

Ive even changed to race shift to eliminate my boot causing issues. When i change without the quick shifter everything is good:rolleyes:

Could it be a faulty shifter then
    Or rider error ;)

Without going back over old ground Matt and cheeseing you off any more maybe best if you have time to give them a call. It's a shame these things at this stage are not easy as putting it on the dyno would be best, it's odd that such a quality shifter should be giving you a hard time.

Your right Arthur, there are many with the zx10 that have great success with them however in recent weeks I've met more that have had issues. 2 guy's with new zx10's were at Oulton last week and had switched from the SS to different brands because they were having issues, even Richard Cooper (BSB) said he was about to get rid of his but he was lucky enough to have someone from HM do all his settings to get it right. I was sharing a garage at Donny on Friday with a guy who had the same bike and shifter he was also having a hard time getting it right and was considering switching.

I won't give up quite yet though:)

Defo have chat with them mate, they will be very interested to hear that, HM are driven by a passion for the product, they will be horified to hear that riders are switching brands! The Plus model set such a high standard in shifters it would be tragic to hear negative comments re the SS.

I will be calling them in the morning so will give them the head up of your problems.

I had an issue with my Annitori Q'S which is made by HM.
I was getting false kills when accellerating hard.
I sent HM an email and Lee asked that I send it back for inspection. In the end they replaced the lot! Such a superb service when the warranty on mine wasn't even HM's issue!
They certainly would get business from me when I need to purchase another.

Ok so today we got very limited time out on track but the little time we did get helped, I've got the sensitivity set at 45 but believe i should go lower to 40 and a kill time of 59. These setting worked well as i only had one or two false neutrals and much less lurchy but it gives me hope as its definitely getting better...

Good stuff, I often reduce the sensitivity so some load is required on the peddle so presure is already applied to the gearbox before the shifter triggers a kill, that way perfect timing of the kill and load helps to give a precise shift, any lack of movement in that fraction of a second will result in a missed gear.

Toby or Arthur could you please tell me why i get "E1" flash up on my lcd every time i turn the ignition on and is it possible that heat near the lcd could effect the workings of the SS??

    Thanks...

Hi Matt, I know I explained this on the phone but just in case anyone else is seeing this best to put it here as well.

E1 will flash up on every single SS out there at start up but on 90% of them it will be so quick it will not even show on the LCD but in some cases it does. This is to do with the boot loader of the firmware. If it stays on the screen then there is an error.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Toby, battery went in the phone earlier.

Ive done as advised and put the sensitivity back to 45 and dropped the kill to 57, also switched the ss off. I also spent sometime today adjusting the rearsets making sure that there is always a positive change of gear...
