Well here I was going out for a blast after work and (now after my recent accident I've decided that in the tail of the bike is a safer place to keep my phone as I slid on my belly for 20m and my phone was in my inside pocket) off I go and when I stopped for fuel low and behold I mustn't have shut my cowl properly and it had mysteriously vanished. My phone thankfully was still there.....thank fk. So now I have a dilemma, bite the bullet and buy a new one? Buy a cheap ass Chinese shitter? Or a brand new SP one? Finally would an SP one fit my 2011? Cheers Colin
SP cowl will fit 208-2016, I’ve got a cheap Chinese SP cowl on my 2014. The only thing is the paint may not be a perfect match or it may come unpainted.
Seat cowls are ridiculously overpriced in my opinion!! They take a bit of abuse also as they're on and of constantly, get boot scuffs and like what happened to you, they get lost if not secured properly. On every ride I would find myself reaching round with my left hand to check its still there. Thankfully it always was! I would get a Chinese one off ebay if I was you, for your model they are pretty good quality, a good fit and I would go as far to say.....identical to oem. Colour match might not be perfect depending on what colour you get but I would just live with it. I wouldn't bother getting it repainted to match perfectly as you would be deflating the object! Think they're less than 20 quid on ebay!
I have never had an issue with the locking system only the difficulty in getting the seat to latch at the rear. I recommend lifting the rear after locking to make sure it is not loose. I have recently discovered (to my horror!) that ebay seller's "xx days money back guaranty" is also the warranty period unless tated separately so watch out
That's brilliant, I can get my pal to paint it for free he owes me a few favours, how much would you be looking for it?
Mate that's very generous and also a cause I fully support as my sister died of cancer nearly 20 years ago at only 25, I'll make a healthy donation tonight.
