Well after my gearbox gave up the ghost on my 2004 fireblade and searching for a new gearbox for the last month i've went out and bought a ex bsb 200bhp engine for the blade and a full titanium Arata system . The engine has a hrc close ratio gearbox and stm slipper clutch fitted and loads of other goodies so i'm a happy boy. Hopefully picking it up end of next week when i've finished my offshore shift. Got all my other bits and bobs to arriving at the house so hopefully my 10 days off will be mostly spend in the garage playing with my bike getting her stripped and ready! :)

    Wish me luck :Banane32:

I've got this funny animated gif file of Homer Simpson drooling that I wanted to post as a response to you, but I'm on the iPad and can't seem to get to it, but I hope you get the point anyway, mate.

Nice, I near brought shakeys old Bsb motor, it had a £10k f1 cut gearbox in it and with stock injectors and electronics would make 185+ bhp, the motors make 205 with the race injectors and electronics not forgetting airbox etc.. the downsides are they need a full refresh at 1500 miles! Hence I thought sod it, the motor was just rebuilt and sold for 3.5k another 5k would buy the rest needed to make 200bhp, none of them come close to that power with stock throttle bodies, injectors, velocity stacks, air box or electronics.. but still a nice buy, the HRC gearbox would cost 5k..

Yeah nice, I should say the motor I was offered was from Shakeys 2007 Stobart Honda, but any of those engines will be super nice, fully flowed and ported with matched flowed crank cases, factory or reworked cams, a nice crank depending on regs for the year in Bsb and all the trimmings you will not be dissatisfied! Nice buy! Id love to strip that motor.. :) a joy to rebuild as long as I'm not paying or hunting down spares ...lol

Out of interest who's motor was it?

Arthur sounds a very cool project. Make sure you take pics to post while you are doing the engine change

Sorry for the late reply guys still offshore and had no time to get online, Engine is from the Red Viper Racing team used in 2007 picked it up on ebay for just over a grand! Which i thought was a steal as its also got the kit generator and a custom air oil cooler aswel as all the other goodies i've mentioned, I've added the ebay link so you's can have a look at the pics and stuff from the auction. Was watching it for a while and was so suprised it went so cheap. I'd imagine i'll have to strip it down about every 3k but when my mot is up next year i might just concentrate on tracking her as some of the guys i role with are talking about road trip to spain next year do a load of trackdays etc. So looking forward to it already! :)

Nice going mate, you will have some fun!! For the money its a deal! The gearbox is also a deal and an easy job should you even need to open it up and see that nice box in your new motor... what that you would need too.. Bring on the photos and test report mate.. :)
