For sale on eBay from Rite Bike in Bradford.

If I was mechanically minded I would be interested. But it has all the things I hate added to a motorcycle- wavy discs, mini indicators, horrible replacement tail tidy and coloured anodised bolts, cheap exhausts! A piece of HRC history like that should have a set of Akrapovics and that is it.

If anyone can do a link please do.

Potential to be really nice with a bit of time and money.

To be honest I think you are right. The more I look at it the more I think the same. An SP1 with that mileage and that price is tempting!!!

    The milage is very good.
Some of the mods done, IMO they should go back to standard.
Get it bought, you know you want too ;)
    We'll get an SP1/2 group going :)

Any mods that have been done and not to taste, can easily be replaced and you will see your money back on these bikes.
Better than money in the bank just now.

Gary/Colin you are talking complete sense, the only slight sticking point is having to sell my blade in order to buy the SP1. Then the cost of returning it back to standard. I have done some digging and parts for the SP1 are still easy to get hold of but as you know cost a bomb. But I am very tempted.

    I had a SP1 when they came out in 2000 (hence sp1n99 (spin99))
I was ready to trade it after 3 months and it was only the fact that the dealer wanted the SP and 2 grand (effectively costing me 4 grand ) that stopped me.
    I decided to throw some money at it and ended up with;
    Penske rear shock
    Ohlins fork kit
    Full Ti Akropovic evo2
    Power commander
    Braided lines
    Double bubble
And a LONG list of other goodies.

The thing is the SP isn't that good a bike as standard IMO, it's very rear heavy ( look at pictures of Colin Edwards on one, he rides it mx style). On a trip to Mallory with a mate on the back it was wheelying everywhere, not good on a wet motorway!
Also, on a trip to Italy I found I couldn't use a tank bag because you need to be over the front end.

So, would I have another one..... Yes but not as an only bike.
