    OK Chaps ...

Unfortunately with a rear tyre covered in damp crud from a puddle on my own driveway I opened up to pull out of my road and it dumped me on my arse and spun me around in the road first time I've done that since the first time I did it 23 years ago lol .. breaking a mirror arm messing up the R&G bungs on one side and taking out the bar end ...

    My question is thus ...

Has anyone tried the replacement after market half priced Mirrors from M&P .. do they look close enough to fool the uninitiated into thinking they are real Honda or the same as the one on the other side? Or do I need a pair of them to achieve this deception? :)

Also the crash bungs are right buggered .. not so bothered about that .. gotta buy R&G so .. just will ..

Sorry to hear that. No experience of non oem mirrors, but I'd go eBay and buy genuine. There are plenty about, or else google Yorkshiregooner (mark) as he's sure to have some.

Can't advise on the mirrors but sorry to hear she went down, looks like the crash bung saved expensive repair bills!

You may need to replace the internals to bar end if it snapped off. Think they are around 30/40quid from honda. You'll know cos you wont be able to screw new bar end in if damaged

Agree with the new bungs, i have never purchased after market but i have seen some non OEM on a friends CB1000R...... Not impressed at all, you can tell they were made for 2 rupees. Sorry to hear about the crash, i guess things like this can happen at any time and to anybody with either 23 days experience or 23 years. Glad to see you were unhurt though, that is whats really important.

Aftermarket mirrors usually don't have the daylight running LED's in, so you need to be careful.

Not had after market mirrors with built in indicators but have bought one for a 600 a few years ago. Ended up buying an OEM replacement in under 4 months.

Sorry to hear about your spill fella, I did the exact same thing this time last year with my 10 plate. First outing after the winter and forgot that I'd had a new rear fitted! Twist - crash! I did all that plus the LHS fairings and alternator cover but got genuine Honda parts to replace what was damaged. It inevitably costs more, but they're worth it! As Navvy10 said, the bar ends will probably also need a new weight and internal clips etc inside, so you'll no doubt be visiting a Honda parts desk for those anyway! Good luck with the repairs, you live and learn - thankfully!
