So recently bought a fab 2010 blade HRC colours it has an aftermarket exhaust on it which sounds ace but I am thinking of changing it.

Basically when riding between 30 & 40 in 2nd or 3rd gear the bike feels very lumpy and not smooth what's the best solution to cure this lumpy bouncy feeling ?

    Cheers lads and lasses......

    Try the ecu reset...
    Disconnect battery, reconnect
Start up without touching any throttle
Leave to idle until fans cut in and hit kill switch

Made mine smoother on a Ackra

Can the reset be done when the bikes warm? Or does it need be from cold?

Reset will reset the basic closed loop fuelling tables short term then it will be back to how it was...

Simply the lumpy low down running is due to lack of back pressure from the aftermarket exhaust. (fit a baffle and notice the difference)

Remapping the bike will help but it wont get rid of all of it. Best option is an ECU flash + mapping ... OR ... putting the standard exhaust back on it ;)

Haven't got the standard exhaust so not an option for me how long does a reset last? Don't want be having it tuned or anything till after summer, thought I'd give it a go, the only lumpy spot I've got is on tick over once it's warmed up. Will be looking at tuning over winter butt haven't got the free funds while holiday season is on wanting get qs and tuned over winter tho along with a bit of powder coating so might just wait for tick over too

Well done from cold took 8 minutes and now sits at 1100 revs perfectly smooth. Will report back when I've had a run on it see if it goes back to lumpy

What's best when disconnecting/reconnecting the battery is it...

    +ive off then -ive
    -ive on then +ive

    ...to avoid any problems?

Always negative off first and positive on first dont ask why jusg what ive been taught in many yrs of mechanics( most factory manuals agree)
