The bloke was a true legend and very few people will achieve anything near what he did.

A truly great man,to forgive his imprisoners and to lead his nation, what a spirit....a man who Thatcher branded a terrorist.
A light has gone out in the world tonight

    RIP Nelson

Don't normally post on these.... As couldn't give a shit about some celebrity snuffing it, but I'm gutted about this - although not surprising

But WHAT. A legend. Spent a fair bit of time in the cape and the man was a truly incredible dude. Gutted to hear this. IMO deserves all the recognition and air time he gets.

Robben island is such a great place (I didn't get in old nelsons bed for a pic honest) and is very humbling to say the least.

Not many have sacrificed so much for what they believe....

True gent and in my opinion the example of dignity.

RIP Old fella. You deserve it

I'll confess to not knowing the history of South Africa that well, I remember apartide (sp?) and you'd have to be some sort of ejit not to know Mr M was a legend of the highest order.
So thanks Mr.M for all the inspiration & sacrifice you have shown this world, respect and RIP... We shouldn't forget people like this for sure.....

Now i'm gonna have a moan..

Yes, the BBC have gone into hyperdrive let alone overdrive... One of my weekly treats is coming back from mountain biking on a Thursday night and swearing at all the cocks on Question time....
It wasn't on, the news started at 9.30 & didn't finish till gone midnight all about Mandela, I turned to Sky Sports News (clues in the title) guess what, they were going round all the sports stars and they were telling us the viewers what they thought about Mandela, like I give a ferturkin toss what Tiger Woods thinks...
This morning at work, headphones in listen to my morning fix of light hearted banter on LBC ... it's Mandela morning ..... Grrrrrrrr .......

    bloody worlds gone mad....
