I installed a manual CCT and the buzzing sound at 4k rpm is gone. However..... I ordered a manual CCT from Ebay, see below pic., unlike the other Manual CCT's(which i have seen on Youtube) this one cannot be turned by hand, i have to use a 8mm wrench, and therefore cannot really 'feel' the resistance when turning the bolt in. As per instructions , after removing the old OEM CCT i rotated the timing mark to T, like this: But, i couldnt get the manual CCT in, there was too much resistance, so i rotated it back to its previous marking , which is like this: I got the manual CCT finally in, with the bolt turned out fully.. I started the bike with the bolt fully out, the rattling noise was gone at 4k, also no whining noise when accelerating.. I tried turning the bolt in, no changes in noise. I'm afraid something is wrong here since the CCT bolt is fully out and i didnt have to adjust anything on the manual cct. What would you guys advice in this case? Do a valve clearance/adjustment to ensure its all good, or not to worry about and just ride? Thanks for your advice.
Hi welcome. Did you move the engine position with no tensioner? If you have,I’d be concerned that one of the tensioner blades have been dislodged. However it runs and sounds okay! You should be able to unlock the tensioner and finger it in whilst cranking ( try with an 8mm socket fitted for a little more leverage) at this stage I found about 1/2 turn more needed.
