Sad to see someone else lost their life yesterday on the mountain section. RIP

A motorcyclist has been killed during a qualifying session for the Manx Grand Prix.

Tim Moorhead, 50, died following a crash just before the Black Hut, on the Mountain section of the course at about 20:05 BST on Friday.

Mr Moorhead, from Whitstable, Kent, made his Manx Grand Prix debut in 2012.

The Manx Motor Cycle Club passed on its condolences to his family and friends. An investigation is under way into the circumstances of the crash.

A University of Kent spokesman confirmed Mr Moorhead was an associate lecturer at Kent Law School.

The Coroner of Inquests in the Isle of Man has been informed.
